karma...
i believe in karma. what goes around, comes around and it will come back to you three folds!
while having dinner with my parents, my dad opened a topic close to heart. he talked about how the moslems are being attacked by the british and how the british police shot dead a suspected suicide bomber without confirming an identification. he goes on to say that they should not have shot the young man since they have already cornered him and were about to arrest him. and yes, they got the wrong man.
though i agree with my dad, i have to disagree on certain points.
many a times, we moslems like to point fingers and blame other people for the woes that we are subjected to. we claim that we are being marginalised and discriminated against. yes, we are. i agree. however, i don't think anyone of us really did question why. before we go around blaming other people for our regression, let's examine ourselves first.
when my dad talked about that situation i only had one thing to say to him. that's what happened when you kill indiscriminately. you get killed indiscriminately too! nobody cares. karma.
it's sad that the world have come to this. everytime i flip the pages of the local newspapers, i can't help but to feel jaded about the going-ons of the world. the constant bomb blasts and the ever-existing terrorist threats they all make me sick. and i'm moslem!
don't these people realise that the only thing they're doing is tarnishing the name of the religion they fought and died for? i may be gay and a sinner by all accounts but i know i have a solid heart. it kills me everytime someone looks at a middle-eastern moslem with that look of suspicion. i cannot blame them entirely, i mean they are afraid.
it's so sad that these people believe that they can make a difference by creating such havoc, by indiscriminately killing people. what have these people done to you? if you have a bone to pick with anyone, go fight it out with them. why include other people?
dear mr terrorist,
i wish you could seriously take a step back and look at what you have done . i don't know exactly what you are trying to achieve but if it's mayhem and hatred towards islam, then i guess you have succeeded. and for that, i have to thank you.
thank you for making my life as a moslem more difficult then it already is. thank you for making the world scrutinize islam as though the religion is only good for producing terrorists. thank you for dying in vain, because not only did you kill yourself, you also kill and destroy the image of islam - something that you wanted to fight for, i might add. and thank you for killing an innocent moslem. yes, the british police shot him.. but you killed him!
don't you know that you are doing nothing for your cause? so many people have died. so many innocent lives have been taken just because you thought what you are doing is correct. you thought? who confirmed that thought for you? i won't begin by saying that i understand how undermined and marginalised you feel because truthfully, i don't. all i know is that your actions didn't help one bit. yes people paid more attention to us, but for the wrong reasons! now everyone just thinks we're terrorist or part of a larger terrorist force out to wipe out the world.
so, i'm begging you. though i appreciate you wanting to fight for us and help us and make our voices heard, i would rather you not do anything and let us go back to our normal lives. lives where our future awaits us, where bomb blasts and planes crashing into buildings are not the events du jour. let us live in peace and quiet harmony without people scrutinizing our every moves, destroying our mosques and hurting our bodies. i thank you for your help, but i don't think we need it anymore..
from,
your brother in islam.
life's just not the same anymore.
